Ritwik Takkar built ConvertMyUnits as a free app. The app is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This policy explains how ConvertMyUnits handles information when you use the app.

Summary

ConvertMyUnits is an offline unit converter for iOS, Android, macOS, and Linux. Conversion calculations happen on your device and do not require an account.

The app stores settings locally on your device, such as default conversions, visible categories, review prompt timing, and last-seen app version/build state.

The app uses limited PostHog analytics to understand usage and improve the app. I do not sell personal information, and the app does not use advertising trackers.

Information Collection and Use

No account is required to use ConvertMyUnits. The app may collect limited analytics, including app version, build number, platform, device model or device name, event names, event times, selected conversion category, selected units, conversion input and output values, settings changes, install events, and update events.

Analytics are used only to maintain and improve the app. Analytics failures are ignored and do not affect conversion functionality.

Third-party services used by or associated with the app may collect information under their own policies. Relevant privacy links include PostHog, Apple App Store, and Google Play Services.

Log Data

When analytics or platform services are used, log data may be collected. This may include information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device information, operating system, app version, configuration, event timestamps, and usage statistics.

Local settings remain on your device unless included in the analytics events described in this policy or shared by you through platform features.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data can be removed by deleting the app or clearing its app data, depending on your platform. Analytics data is retained by PostHog according to PostHog's policies and my project settings.
